MISSION: SMART GRIDS “MADE IN AUSTRIA”
INIGRID PROJECT ⁄
In the iniGrid project led by AIT, an Austrian consortium has set itself the target of develo- ping intelligent and inexpensive sensors and actuators for the smart grids of the future. The partners cover the entire value chain of development, from research and the manu- facture of semiconductors and switchgear through to automation and grid operation.
ONE STOP SHOP FOR SMART CITIES
AIT has been commissioned by the European Commission to develop a Smart Cities Infor- mation System (SCIS), together with partners from Belgium, Holland and Hungary. The SCIS is designed to gather and analyse data from all European smart cities projects to help decision-makers in the implementation of sustainable and energy-efficient cities.
COOPERATION WITH KIT ⁄
AIT and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) have signed a memorandum of under- standing. The two key players in energy rese- arch will work together more closely in fu- ture, especially in the areas of smart grids, battery storage and smart homes.
